POSITION SUMMARY

The Communications and Marketing Manager leads NMPCTC’s strategic communications, marketing, and brand management efforts in support of the organization’s mission to strengthen New Mexico’s healthcare workforce through graduate medical education, faculty development, and statewide collaboration. This position develops and executes communication strategies, manages digital and multimedia platforms, creates compelling marketing materials, and partners with internal staff and external stakeholders to promote NMPCTC initiatives and partner organizations.

POSITION ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement organization-wide communications and marketing strategies that advance NMPCTC’s mission and strategic priorities.
  • Support the Director of Operational Development with external communications, messaging, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Develop and maintain a consistent organizational brand, voice, and visual identity across all platforms.
  • Design and produce presentations, reports, infographics, publications, promotional materials, and other creative assets.
  • Manage NMPCTC’s website, social media platforms, and digital communications.
  • Develop, produce, and manage multimedia content including videos, podcasts, webinars, photography, and digital campaigns.
  • Create and maintain an editorial calendar and develop content for newsletters, email campaigns, press releases, blogs, and social media.
  • Coordinate research, outreach, recruitment, and scheduling of speakers for statewide didactic and faculty development programming.
  • Support internal communications, organizational planning, and cross-functional projects.
  • Provide communications, branding, and marketing consultation to partner organizations.
  • Develop branding, messaging, and visual identity materials for partner organizations.
  • Create promotional materials and marketing campaigns supporting partner initiatives.
  • Assist partner organizations with website content, social media strategy, and digital communications.
  • Collaborate with partners to develop communication plans for internal and external audiences.
  • Cultivate community engagement and strengthen NMPCTC’s visibility through strategic outreach and marketing initiatives.
  • Monitor communication analytics and recommend improvements based on performance metrics.
  • Legislative and public affairs communications

  • Organizational storytelling and impact reporting
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Graphic Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

License and or Certification Required: NA

 

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Three or more years of progressively responsible experience in communications, marketing, public relations, or brand management.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
  • Experience managing websites, social media, email marketing, and digital communications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and graphic design/content creation tools (e.g., Canva or Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in healthcare, higher education, nonprofit organizations, or workforce development.
  • Experience with video production, podcast development, photography, or multimedia storytelling.
  • Knowledge of branding strategy, digital marketing analytics, SEO, and content management systems.

 

PHYISICAL DEMANDS

Standing: May require standing for periods of time and on an intermittent basis.

Sitting: Requires sitting for long periods of time; Frequent use of computer and keyboard.

Walking: Requires walking on an on intermittent basis; Occasional prolonged walking.

Pushing/Pulling: Push carts with materials, etc. from time to time.

Squatting/Kneeling: Kneels or squats to plug/unplug various equipment intermittently. Frequent reaching, stooping, bending, and crouching

Lifting: Lifts necessary supplies and equipment utilized for job function: Occasionally lifts, supplies/equipment up to 50 lbs.

Carrying: Carries materials, etc. from time to time

Vision: Ability to read correspondence, reports, books, periodicals, and computer screen etc. 

Hearing: Ability to perceive speech at normal loudness levels and to be able to respond to alarms, answering phone, and overhead page

Psychological: Ability to respond appropriately to stressful work and multiple demands.  Resolves conflicts effectively, prioritizes task, responds to emergencies and reacts calmly.  Knowledge or relevant office equipment.  Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions establish a safe work environment.

Physiological: Work is primarily performed indoors in a controlled environment

Travel: Frequently drives sort and/or long distances

WORKING CONDITIONS

Occasional pressure due to deadlines and working with the public
