This year’s Thank a Resident Day gave us a chance to show some love to the almost 230 family medicine and internal medicine residents who do so much for communities across New Mexico. To help mark the occasion, we distributed buttons to residents as a small token of appreciation and a reminder that their work does not go unnoticed.
This year’s celebration also took a team effort behind the scenes. NMPCTC staff helped deliver Blake’s donations to some program locations, and we are especially grateful to the residency coordinators who stepped in to pick up and distribute meals to their residents. Their support helped make sure this gesture of appreciation reached programs across New Mexico.
While the breakfast and buttons were a fun way to mark the day, the heart of Thank a Resident Day is recognizing the dedication, long hours, and meaningful contributions residents make every day in clinics, hospitals, and communities throughout the state. We are proud to celebrate these physicians in training and thankful for the care they provide to New Mexicans.

We would like to extend a big thank you as well to Blake’s LOTABURGER for generously donating breakfast burritos and coffee to our FM and IM residency programs across the state. Their support helped us celebrate residents in a meaningful and very New Mexican way, and we are grateful for their partnership in helping fuel the resident physicians caring for our communities.
