LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico Primary Care Training Consortium (NMPCTC) is pleased to announce that Nicole Mandall, MPH, has been selected as its new Executive Director after an extensive search. Mandall officially begins her new role on Friday, March 21, 2025.
“I could not be happier to welcome Nicole Mandall as our new Executive Director,” said William Bowen, MD, NMPCTC Board President. “Nicole’s transition into the executive director role reflects our commitment to investing in the talented people from our community who are working hard to create positive change for New Mexico’s primary care workforce.”
Mandall first joined NMPCTC in July 2020 as a Graduate Medical Education (GME) Program Specialist and was later promoted to Director of Operational Development in January 2022. Throughout her tenure, Mandall has played a pivotal role in advancing GME initiatives in New Mexico, including spearheading the New Mexico GME Expansion Grant and leading the development of the UNM-Doña Ana County Psychiatry Residency Program. She has also provided consultations on residency feasibility for hospitals and community health centers throughout the state, and collaborated with New Mexico lawmakers and physicians on legislative initiatives supporting GME.
“It is an honor to step into this role and continue working toward a stronger, more sustainable healthcare workforce for New Mexico,” said Mandall. “I am proud to be part of the organization’s commitment to improving access of care through training high-quality physicians who have the skills and knowledge to bolster health equity in our communities, while focusing on communities that are in the greatest need.”
Prior to her work with NMPCTC, Mandall’s experience included roles with the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Institute in Washington, Peace Corps in Ukraine and Ethiopia, and the RARE Program in Oregon. She holds a Master of Public Health from New Mexico State University and a Bachelor of Arts from Emory University.
